Stoneware

Hi friends,

I wanted to take a little time to tell you about wondrous stoneware. Anything that is cooked in my oven, is cooked on stoneware. I don’t even own a metal cookie sheet. So cookies, roasts, chicken, pizza, brownies, muffins, bread, bacon, french fries, roasted vegetables, ribs, pretty much everything I make, is cooked on stoneware – except for a cheesecake I made this afternoon to be completely honest.

Stoneware retains heat for about 30min after being removed from the oven so your food stays warm, even if you’re running around putting together a salad or chasing your children/dogs – stoneware has your back. Stoneware draws moisture away from your food producing light and crispy results – stoneware makes you look like a better cook. As a fine wine improves with age, so does stoneware. It develops a patina or seasoning over time that creates a non-stick coating for easier clean-up.Β  Speaking of clean-up, it’s just a quick rinse with water and a little rub with a nylon pan scraper (that comes with every stone) and you’re done!

My favourites are the large bar pan and theΒ deep covered baker.

What do you like to make in your stoneware?
