Product Review: Silicone Prep Bowls

Hi friends!

To be perfectly honest I used to think these silicone prep bowls were REALLY dumb. I thought they wouldn’t be useful in my kitchen, and that they would primarily take up valuable real-estate in my tiny cupboards. I kind of thought they were a bit of a gimmick and I was reluctant to try them out.

But then when my mom (thanks mom) gave me one of her large 3 cup sized silicone prep bowls *cue life changing music montage* I was HOOKED. I didn’t realize what I was missing!

My favourite thing about these bowls is that they’re flexible and you can squeeze them to control the pour stream. You can use them to make salad dressings, melt butter or coconut oil for popcorn, or melt chocolate for desserts. They can also be handy for anything that you would normally need a funnel for. The measuring lines on the inside are very helpful and they come with cutie-patootie lids incase you want to store something in them (like leftover salad dressing..) My husband uses the 1 cup size for freshly ground coffee beans and leaves it by our espresso machine so it’s ready when we are! These bowls are oven-safe up to 400º, microwave safe, freezer safe and dishwasher safe.

A set of three is $31.50 and comes with a 1 cup, 2 cup and 3 cup size and matching lids. Find more information here. I think they make a really practical gift for a bridal shower or a really practical gift for yourself. #treatyoself
